This year we have our fingers crossed for something very special – we’ve signed up for the Virgin Media Business VOOM competition.

If you haven’t already heard of it, #VOOM2016 is an initiative that gives growing businesses from around the UK the opportunity to pitch none other than Richard Branson himself. The winning business in each category will receive £250,000 towards an ad campaign for their business idea, plus £50,000 in cash. As you can imagine, this is an extremely exciting opportunity for us, but we need your help!

We’ve entered our concept for our brand new range of clothing… INTENT by Ushiwear.

Keeping up with our ethos of making desirable, individual and ‘Brilliantly British’ leisurewear, we have come up with the idea to make a range of upcycled bags and clothing from tent fabric which is reborn, reworn and reloved.

The idea to use discarded tents to make clothing came to me in a light bulb moment and last year we travelled all the way to Glastonbury to collect them. Working with brilliant student designer Harriet McHugh we have created INTENT; but we need help to make our idea a reality and to get us to the next stage of #Voom.

We need to be in the top 80 to make it through to the next round – a 29-hour live pitchathon before making it through a few more stages and then finally a live finale pitch in front of Richard Branson and a panel of judges. We’re currently 70th and voting closes on 23rd May, the competition is incredibly tight and we need more votes!

You can see our full pitch and vote here –

We would be incredibly grateful to anybody who takes the time to vote, and please ask your friends and family to vote too!

Thank you.

Love Jilly xx
