This October we returned to the ‘Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Show North’ in Manchester for the first time in three years – having attended the London version of the show in the years in between.
The show took place from Friday – Sunday, so we arrived late on the Thursday night to set up the Ushiwear stand. The atmosphere was already building upon arrival, anticipation was high and you could sense the excitement amongst the other retailers; already it was great to be back!
The Ski Show, whether in London or ‘up north’, is a favourite for us. We have made some great friends along the way, and many loyal Ushiwear followers from our appearances at both shows come back to say hi.
This year we brought with us an extensive selection of products; new and old. But all classic Ushiwear designs! We also showcased our unique Ushiwear Harlequin Hoodies which remain a firm favourite with the Ushiwear Tribe.
We made the decision to experiment with new colours this season, and we are very pleased with the result. Each component of the hoodie: the body, hood, pocket and each arm, are produced in a different colour, yet complement each other perfectly. The front of the hoodie is printed with the Ushiwear Bulls Head, and the arms and hood are printed with writing – depending on the edition of each item. The back of the hoodies are printed with numbers 1-20, making them entirely unique!
The different colours allow us to be creative, using our unique designs to represent and characterize our customer’s different personalities.
We also showcased our brand new Ushiwear Bobble Hats made in the UK! They are made specially for us by a lady in Scotland, in a range of exclusive designs. The ‘Iconic Bobble’ is one we LOVE – with the Ushiwear bull’s head in white knit on the black background, along with the multi-coloured pom-pom, making it look really striking.
In addition to the Iconic Bobble, we showcased our unique ‘Ushi Bobbles’ – they come in three different colours. Each hat comes in light grey, with white writing and a dark grey pompom; but the real difference is in the rim (you can choose between blue, pink or jade).
Over the course of the show we met hundreds of interesting people and everyone had lots of nice things to say about our stock which is always lovely to hear!
What we really loved was bumping into a few familiar faces; and were extremely happy to see five time Olympic skier and BBC presenter Graham Bell attend with his daughter Lottie (both Ushi fans!).
We had met them at a previous show and they were both very complimentary about Ushiwear, which of course is a huge honor – he even sent us a picture of Lottie wearing the Ushiwear snapback she bought.
The show really made us crave being back on the slopes, and although we didn’t attend the London Ski Show this year rest assured we’ll be back in 2016.
We hope to see you all again next year!
Love Jilly x
